Junya Sato participates the group exhibition “the wanderer” at moti museum, Breda, Holland though October 26 2014.
The exhibition “the wanderer” will be held in Breda Photo International at Moti Museum in Breda, Holland. Every works is inspired from the painting that the German Romantic painter Casper David Friedrich painted in 1818.

From September 11 – November 23 MOTI presents two expositions around BredaPhoto. With the theme Songs From the Heart, BredaPhoto dives into the New Romance: the Romance of the 21st century. Even though the romantic ideals of authenticity, sincerity and uniqueness are already two centuries old, are they nowadays alive again. During the festival selected photographers explore the fields around the Romance movement as a form of art, as a lifestyle and even as a term of abuse.

The iconic painting Der Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer from Casper David Friedrich forms the base for the exhibition Songs from the Heart in MOTI, during BredaPhoto. With several contemporary ‘clones’ of the work of Friedrich, the impact of this on various disciplines is clear. From games and film posters to advertisements, book covers and art: all expressions pay attention to the same feelings of loneliness and mystery.

11/28よりボイスプランニングにて、また11/25より青山目黒にて佐藤純也個展を開催いたします。

本展覧会では湖に広がる油膜を描いた「界面」、ハエの視点で描くことでさかさまになった日常空間を描いた「for you」、艶やかにペイントされた「スーパーノヴァ」の連作を含む新作群を展開いたします。さらに両会場をまたいで、異国に住む双子の姉妹を描いた「sisters」も併せて展示いたします。全ての作品は今年の夏、ドイツに滞在した際に着想を得て制作されたました。これまで佐藤の作品には具体的なモチーフが多くみられましたが、本展覧会ではさまざまなメディアから題材を汲み取り、視覚の主体を揺さぶることに挑戦しています。

今回の展覧会では佐藤は「ピクチャジェニック」という造語を提示しました。「絵映えする」という意味が根底にありますが、場所や時間を問わずして絵画（ピクチャ）の遺伝子（ジェニック）が脈々と続いていくことを望んでいるからこそ出てきた言葉でもあります。

「だいじなことは一枚の絵がひとりだちできるようになること。わたしの元を離れて。」と佐藤が言うように、作品が生みの親の手を放れても遺伝子としての作品を残していく、という挑戦をしているのかもしれません。

絵画のあるべきかたちとはなにか。作家は作品をつくることでなにが残せるのか、何ができるのか、作家としての姿勢を根元から問いただす、大規模な展覧会が開催されます。ぜひご期待ください。
