I’m pleased to be contributing again this year as a supervising member of the organizing committee for the third edition of the Constitution of Japan Exhibition.
Titled “The Constitution of Japan Exhibition feat. Kuroki Collection”, this year’s edition is organized and directed by art collector Kenichi Kuroki. It will be open to the public over six days around Constitution Memorial Day, at a former judicial scrivener’s office near Nishi-Kokubunji Station in Tokyo.
Inspired by the book The Constitution of Japan, the exhibition presents nine newly selected contemporary artworks, each paired with specific articles from the Constitution—particularly Articles 9 and 24. This pairing invites viewers to experience the Constitution through the lens of art and engage with its language in new and tactile ways.
This edition also marks the first satellite exhibition in the series.
Participating Artists (Articles 9 & 24)
Kesang Lamdark / Futoshi Miyagi / Tammy Nguyen / Danh Vo / Meiro Koizumi / Satoshi Hashimoto / Oksana Pasaiko / Ryan Gander
Talk Event|Saturday, May 3 (Constitution Memorial Day)
“Let’s Talk About the Satellite Exhibition”
